Osler Education’s Educational Technology certificate course provides workers in the educational field with fundamental knowledge for important technological skills that are ever-changing. Students will gain further knowledge in the most key areas of educational technology including how to select educational technology, how to use and implement educational technology, how this sector is ever changing.
Students will be introduced to learning management systems, social media, online open education, and search engines. Students will learn how all these different web-based technologies have changed and are changing and how they have made an impact on learning and teaching.
Students will explore the variety of online educational tools, applications, and systems. Students will learn to source and select several online educational technologies.
Students will learn to implement educational technology by creating a plan of action. Examples of educational institutions that have succeeded with implementations as well as educational institutions that chose poorly will be reviewed and discussed.
Students will be exposed to the constant changed in educational technology. The pros and cons of these changes for teachers, students, as well as the educational institution. Students will also discuss where they think educational technology is leading to in the future.
Students will take away key concepts of educational technology. The Educational Technology certificate course will provide additional knowledge, understanding, and skills to persons already working in the education field.
The Educational Technology certificate course runs for 8-weeks through our Self Pace (distance/online education) course. The Self Pace course is broken down into self-study modules and students are evaluated final examinations for each module. It is recommended that notes are taken during class and the Instructors will provide a list of the recommended readings/textbooks. The class instructors are Professionals with extensive experience in the courses that are being taught.
